Having worked against increasingly sophisticated and targeted threats, he moved on to Recorded Future, where he helped multinational critical infrastructure and defense organisations build out intelligence programmes and analyse international threat actors and operations. This experience has shaped Periphery’s intelligence-led embedded models and focused its mission to protect embedded systems in critical infrastructure.

Kane Ryans is a cybersecurity analyst, automation specialist and technical detection engineer, who has worked across private, government and military security for more than 15 years. As Periphery’s Chief Technology Officer, Kane was the lead programmer responsible for building the product, designing the easy-to-implement architecture and the pioneering use of a ‘Central AI’, which compiles intelligence from devices at the edge and allows for faster threat identification. Having begun his career with a home-study security course, Kane excelled as a security engineer and analyst for BAE Systems and NATO, working in some of the most high-security and highly regulated environments in the world. His passion for the technology behind the solutions led him to move into engineering, building security automation solutions for NCC Group. He now leads Periphery’s technical team, managing everything from architecture strategy through to tactical implementation for customers.

At NATO, he built detection networks in Iraq and Afghanistan. He now leads Periphery's legal compliance, ensuring the technology meets international frameworks, and runs honeypot networks to identify new threats and maintain cutting-edge threat intelligence.
